CMDKEY

Creates, lists and deletes stored user names and passwords or credentials.


Syntax

CMDKEY /?

CMDKEY [/ADD:target_name | /GENERIC:target_name] [/SMARTCARD] [/USER:user_name [ /PASS[:pass_word]]] [/DELETE{:target_name | /RAS}] [/LIST[:target_name]]


Parameters
/ADD:target_name (NT2003)
The computer or domain name that this entry will be associated with.

Switches
/? (NT2003)
Display syntax.
/ADD (NT2003)
Adds a user name and password to the list.
/DELETE{:target_name (NT2003)
Deletes a user name and password from the list. If target_name is specified, that entry will be deleted.
/GENERIC (NT2003)
Adds generic credentials to the list.
/LIST (NT2003)
Displays the list of stored user names and credentials. If target_name is not specified, all stored user names and credentials will be listed.
/PASS:pass_word (NT2003)
Specifies the password to store with this entry. If pass_word is not supplied, you will be prompted.
Passwords will not be displayed once they are stored.
/RAS (NT2003)
The stored remote access entry will be deleted.
/SMARTCARD (NT2003)
Retrieves the credential from a smart card.
If more than one smart card is found on the system, will display information about all available smart cards and then prompt the user to specify which one to use.
/USER:user_name (NT2003)
Specifies the user or account name to store with this entry. If user_name is not supplied, you will be prompted.
