EXTRACT

EXTRACTs a compressed file. You can use this command to retrieve one or more files from the Cabinet storage from Microsoft. These files are not usable unless you EXTRACT them.


Syntax

EXTRACT [/Y] [/A] [/D | /E] [/L dir] cabinet [filename ...]

EXTRACT [/Y] source [newname]

EXTRACT [/Y] /C source destination


Parameters
cabinet (v7.00 Win95)
Archive file of multiple file(s).
destination (v7.00 Win95)
Destination of copy.
filename (v7.00 Win95)
Name of file to extract from archive file. Wildcards or multiple filenames (separated by blanks) may be used.
newname (v7.00 Win95)
New filename to give the extracted file.
source (v7.00 Win95)
Archive (cabinet) that contains only one (1) file. (AKA Compressed file).

Switches
/A (v7.00 Win95 NT4)
Process ALL (multiple) archive(s) in chain, starting with first mentioned.
/C (v7.00 Win95 NT4)
Copy source file to destination. (ie. Copy from DMF disks).
/D (v7.00 Win95 NT4)
Display list of file(s) within archive.
/E (v7.00 Win95 NT4)
Extract ALL file(s) from archive.
/L dir (v7.00 Win95 NT4)
Directory location to place the extracted file(s) from archive.
/Y (v7.00 Win95 NT4)
Do NOT prompt before overwriting an existing file.
