NET SHARE

Makes server's resources available to network users.

For each resource, reports the devicename(s) or pathname(s) and a descriptive comment associated with it.


Syntax

NET HELP SHARE

NET SHARE sharename[=drive: path] [/CACHE:[Manual | Automatic | No]] [/REMARK:"text"] [{/UNLIMITED | /USERS:n}]

NET SHARE [{sharename | devicename | drive:path}] /DELETE

Lists information about all resources being shared on the computer:

NET SHARE


Parameters
devicename (NT4)
Is one or more printers (LPT1: through LPT9:) shared by sharename.
drive: (NT3.5)
Specifies the drive to share.
path (NT3.5)
Specifies the absolute path of the directory to share.
sharename (NT3.5)
Is the network name of the shared resource.

Switches
/CACHE:[Manual | Automatic | No] (NT2000)
Enables offline client caching with manual reintegration, automatic reintegration, or advises client that offline caching is inappropriate.
/DELETE (NT3.5)
Stops sharing the resource.
/REMARK:"text" (NT3.5)
Adds a descriptive comment about the resource. Enclose the text in quotation marks.
/UNLIMITED (NT3.5)
Specifies an unlimited number of users can simultaneously access the shared resource.
/USERS:n (NT3.5)
Sets the maximum number (n) of users who can simultaneously access the shared resource.
