TRUENAME

Displays the actual path corresponding to virtual drives created using the SUBST (and ASSIGN?) (and JOIN?) command.


Syntax

TRUENAME [[[drive:] path] filename]

To display current drive/directory:

TRUENAME


Parameters
drive: (v4.0 Win95)
Specifies the "real" drive when you give it the "SUBST" drive.
path (v4.0 Win95)
Specifies the "real" directory when you give it the "SUBST" directory.
path (v4.0 Win95)
Specifies the "real" filename when you give it the "SUBST" filename.

Examples

If "c:\data\docs\manuals\Dos" has been assigned to drive Z: using the SUBST command, then:

    TRUENAME Z:

would display:

    C:\DATA\DOCS\MANUALS\DOS

and, whether "copy.com" exists on "z:" or not:

    TRUENAME Z:\XCOPY.EXE

would display:

    C:\DATA\DOCS\MANUALS\DOS\XCOPY.EXE
